Letters, a Journey

‘Letters, a Journey’ is a slice of life film rooted in themes of nostalgia, travel and self discovery. Ira (30) returns from London (UK) to Pune (India) a month after her beloved grandfather passes away. After dinner with her family and unable to sleep, she starts going through her grandpa’s things and stumbles upon a suitcase with old letters. She’s intrigued by the letters but can’t find any phone numbers of the pen-friends. She sets out on a journey to meet her grandpa’s long time pen friends with the intention of letting them know he passed away. Ira feels her grandpa’s presence in her life by remembering the letters he’s written her over the years. Through her travels and encounters with his pen-friends (75 years old Vasant Sathe and 40 years old Varun Sardesai), she feels more connected to her grandpa which eventually leads to her realizing the true intention behind her journey, the value of friendships, family, experiencing new places and knowing yourself.
It’s a feel good film which will make you either write a letter to a loved one or travel to a new place!
